I have an all tube integrated amplifier as the heart of my stereo system (Rogue Audio Chronus Magnum 3) and was concerned about it getting too hot given I have it installed in a cabinet, open on the front but not on the back or sides. I installed this fan in the back and it's working perfectly - keeps the unit on the cooler side and I have the speed control on its lowest setting. The control module lets you pick the temp the fan will kick on and is hidden away in another cabinet. This system works exactly as described and is perfect for cooling my Tube amp. Btw, this is my first tube amp and everything they say about them is true - warm, lush, analogish... Sounds like music. It works great as a table piece in our home.
