I bought this because I needed a temperature controller to power the USB fan that circulates air and helps maintain the proper temperature in my tropical vivarium. It's very easy to use and comes with good instructions. It has 2 modes of operation. The auto mode turns on the fan at a preset temp of your choosing. when the temp drops to normal parameters the fan turns off. In SMART mode the fan runs constantly but the speed is varied to adjust the level of cooling needed to maintain your desired temperature. It also has an alarm feature to notify you if a set temperature has been exceeded. So far it's been very accurate and reliable. The UI is very simple and intuitive. Although this unit is primarily designed for use with electronics, it's versatile enough to use for any number of applications. I found the cost to be about the same or less as a DIY unit would cost you. I'd recommend it. The storage and design are exactly what we needed.
