I mounted this to the typical HF cabinet. It replaced a ShopVac/dust deputy setup that worked but lost suction fairly quickly. I use medium crushed glass media.
1. Yes, it's loud (wear hearing protection)
2. You'll have to clean the filter (Remove it and knock out the dust) after about every hour of use.
3. It moves a ton of air when the filter is clean and will suck up media. Dump the media out of the bottom before cleaning out the filter so you can put that back in the cabinet without the dust.
4. It's not a miracle cure, it still requires maintenance but when it's working it's a lot better than a regular ShopVac.
5. I'm sure the included filter is letting some very fine dust through it, You can tell when it's running. If you are sensitive to that then just wear a dust mask when in use. It works great as a table piece in our home.
