AC Infinity AI-ATC, Fan Thermostat and Speed Controller, for Home Theater AV Media Cabinet Cooling Review
This is one of the coolest gadgets that i have gotten. We had a propane fireplace with a wood surround mantle installed and it was blowerless. So we were trying to figure out how to get the air moving without to much work or noise. This works perfect when you use any of the AC Infinity fans. We used three of the AC Infinity AIRPLATE S3, Quiet Cooling Fan System 6" with Speed Control, for Home Theater AV Cabinets and linked them all together. Set the smart mode and made sure the thermal probe was where the heat would turn it on. They turn on and off by themselves and we don't have to touch them.
Pro's
? Super simple to work and when using the AC Infinity fans its the perfect compliment
? Quiet running
? Includes thermal probe the mounting screws and a template as well with the power adapter
? Digital readout and backlite as well
Con's
? Not flush mount
? When the fans are on high my dogs stare at them like they are aliens
Conclusion
This set up with the fans is the best for getting heat away from the fireplace without bunch of 120volt wires. Plugs and play for sure. There are multiple modes so you should mess with them and see what works best for you. The storage and design are exactly what we needed.
The patch panel is fairly straight forward for anyone that has ever installed any networking before. The 110 block backs work perfectly well with a standard punch down tool and the wiring is easy enough to route through the provided guide slots. In my case, I, at the time, only needed around 5 ports, but I opted for the 24 port model over the 12 port, because I knew the building I was installing this in would eventually be moving into the 15-20 port range thus allowing myself some extra slots already available for when that occurred.
I would suggest that if you are going to use any other patch panels in the Leviton box to get at least the medium sized box, because the small box would not truly allow for much room left over for anything except this panel, as it easily takes up one whole side of the box. The storage and design are exactly what we needed. Looks even better in person.
I added a dual fan setup on each side, one in one out, controlled by this awesome temp control. I can't speak highly enough about this setup. My PS4 always runs cool WITH the door completely shut on my cabinet. And that's saying a lot considering I play a lot of modern warfare which normally makes this console run hot. I've had it all set up for months now and it's the best set and forget setup I've ever had. Not to mention how fresh and pro it looks. High quality items, here. Get yourself a jigsaw to create the holes in your cabinet, some LEDs if you're feeling it, and take your AV cabinet to the next level. The storage and design are exactly what we needed.
