Reason for buying:
My modem, router, NAS and a Raspberry Pi sit in a closet at my house, along with their power adapters, a UPS and a printer. This heats up the closet and I wanted to vent it to keep it a little cooler.
Mounting this fan in the top of the closet to blow the heat out to the closet in the adjacent office closet seemed the best way to do this, but I needed to do this quietly and efficiently.
Pros:
The included template made it REALLY easy to mark and cut the hole in the dryway to fit the fan. The included screws and zip tie plus self-stick zip tie attachment makes cable routing easy too.
There's a power supply included to give the fan some extra oomph, rather than powering it from the USB port of the router or Raspberry as I planned to. it turned out I had an extra outlet in the UPS I could use.
The fan, plate and mesh are all very nice and high quality. No chance of this bending or failing.
The fan is SILENT! The only reason I hear it is because of slight resonance in the wall. I could probably reduce that by cutting some of the foam from the box the fan shipped in to the right size and make a gasket out of it. I haven't bothered.
The speed control/switch is easy to use and the USB cable is long enough to reach quite far AND it has the pigtail USB port so you can plug another fan into it. Brilliant.
Cons:
None that I've found yet. It works great as a table piece in our home.
So I saw a table like this built one day while I was watching reels and was super interested in building my own because I love the versatility and how much it improves the space. When I saw this on Amazon, I had to have it because now I have all the benefits without even having to build it!!!
As others have said, it does come in a very compact box and the directions are easy to follow. It was easy to put together, though it did take a minute. It is very stable when assembled and exactly the right height to offer phone charging, drink placement and basically for anything else you would want to set behind the couch. It is very functional. I love this table! Recommend. It works great as a table piece in our home.
