These are easy to assemble (though the instructions are pictures with minimal written directions). I ordered three. The first took me over an hour and the third took me 25 minutes.
These appear as described. The black finish is smooth though some wood grain does show through. The legs are thick and sturdy and in four months I haven't needed to retighten any. The doors and shelf are quite thin but seem to be holding up well.
The back panel is cardboard. Unfortunately it doesn't have any cutouts. So if this is going to have electrical storage you'll have to punch through the cardboard.
The handles are a brass color. They lean a little cheap in color - slightly too gold, but they feel solid and sturdier than they look.
For the price - these are great! It fits well with our furniture setup. Looks even better in person.

I'm not a review writer but wanted to tell you that this piece of furniture is worth every penny and more! It is extremely well packed, it is heavy and very well built. It is absolutely beautiful. It is way better than I expected. If you're on the fence, don't be, just buy it! You won't regret it. I absolutely LOVE it and I'm very picky with high standards. It fits well with our furniture setup.
