I purchased this to expand my shelving real estate for my Blu-ray collection, but needed something that was shorter than the height of my light switches. The spacing of the shelves is perfect for this, but I should note, that if you want to use all the shelves evenly spaced out, you will not be able to fit DVD cases vertically.
Item arrived disassembled and requires construction, but the instructions were very easy to follow and all the pieces fit together nicely. To assemble, you will need a philips screw driver (I used an electric one) and a hammer. Installing the backing is really the only tricky part. Just make sure the nails are straight and do not go through the side of the board, which mine did not.
Do not get me wrong, this is definitely what I would call disposable furniture, but for the money, it was exactly what I was expecting and does not look terrible. I saw a few reviews complaining that it was not stable, which is technically correct. It is a rather slim, so this is to be expected, but in fairness, it does come with a wall anchor and adding heavier items to the bottom shelf certainly helps stabilize it.
If you have at least a little knack for DIY and keep your expectations in check, I can certainly recommend this for an economic shelving solution. The price is certainly more than fair for what it is. It fits well with our furniture setup. It fits perfectly in our space.
I bought this to hold TV and network equipment for my place. The box arrived kind of thrashed but it was well packaged and none of the parts were damaged. I have assembled cabinets before and have not needed to use any spare parts, but I did so on this one. The hole where the cam locks fit in and lock to the screws studs on one side were a little shallow. I tried to lock them in but the cams snapped in two when I put a little pressure on them to lock. After I broke one, I backed off the screw stud a bit and used the spare cam lock. The other on the same side cracked and I had to replace that one as well. Be gentle on the cam locks. The instructions also said you needed a square to align the back before nailing it on. I didn't have one, but used a study piece of cardboard to align it. Doors and hinges attached well and were easily adjusted. All in all, happy with purchase. It took about 2 hours to assemble. It fits well with our furniture setup.
I installed to make a in the wall charging station was able to install two outlets no problem just a smidge smaller than the 16 inches so bend some metal a little bit but for the money exactly what you want It fits well with our furniture setup.
