I purchased this to solve a problem with a network connected AV receiver and a cable box installed in a cabinet. I noticed that i was getting connection issues after some long periods of run time that went away if I left the cabinet door open.

I installed this cooling fan set up by mounting the fan and the controller in the side of the cabinet and put the included thermocouple near the top of the cabinet. Overall it was a straightforward installation. The controller was simple to set up so that it turns on at 85F in the cabinet and it turns off after it cools off when the receiver is not operating. There are two options for fan speed control, one to let the controller adjust the fan speed to keep it cool or you can lock in on one fan speed if you want to keep the fan from going into high speed due to the increased noise of the fan. The fan is fairly quiet at high speed and is very, very quiet on the low speeds. In my application, i have the fan pulling the warmer air out near the top of the cabinet and there are enough gaps around the doors etc to allow for cooling air to get in. The company does have an additional fan available for purchase that you could install into the existing controller that you could use to blow cooling air in lower in the cabinet, but i haven't needed it. I did appreciate that i could add it after if I decided it was needed.

I would purchase again. It works great as a table piece in our home. It fits perfectly in our space.
