Closures for wire penetrations are flexible rubber cross-cut bushings, a few included shelves to use, and assorted tie points. The cabinet door has a cutout for a keyed lock and comes with a simple turn lock.
This fits perfectly between 16 OC wall studs. The best time is to install it in new construction BEFORE the drywall is put up. Otherwise, you will have to consider where you want to place it. A last resort: It can be surface mounted on the wall, too.

For old work, determine where you want to place this and what is on the other side of the wall. You CAN use the attached ears for mounting screws or the back of the box has 6 screw holes. This is where it gets tricky. Keep in mind that any long screw used in the back of the box will go through whatever is on the other side, depending on the depth. Verify what is there. You don't want to put screws through into a bedroom or hallway. Most drywall is ? thick. Rare to find 5/8 drywall in a home (used often in apartment firewalls).
Figure out what you are going to use inside the cabinet. I have a firewall, network switch, high-power WiFi access point, and a custom keystone plate for 16 ports. I included an isolated ground 120v outlet and a network-controlled PDU, so I don't have to do a power reset if/when necessary.
