I have been using blast media for years as tumbling grit in my rock polisher. It works perfect for the first stage of the rock polishing process. And it is always more economical than anything labeled "lapidary". The only difference I have found is that Aluminum Oxide requires a little more water when using it in a tumbler.
As blast media goes, this is as good as any other that I have purchased. It is consistent in grain size and composition. This media will work perfectly for smaller sand blasting booths and will recycle through the system for multiple uses.
At nearly half the cost at my nearest retail store, this 10 pound bucket is a big savings on a consumable item, and I recommend trying it out. It fits well with our furniture setup. Very happy with the purchase overall.
