This stuff works great in our sand blasting cabinet that we purchased from Harbor Freight. It takes the rust right off tools and has everything looking smooth and new. It fits well with our furniture setup. The quality really stands out.
Used to hide cables for wall mounted TV. Fairly easy to install. Needed some additional support, but overall, pretty good.
Large enough to add two outlets and a cable lead with a little extra room. Pricing was pretty reasonable. It fits well with our furniture setup.
I originally ordered this because I noticed after a few hours of gaming on my PS4, the media cabinet was very warm when the glass door was shut. The cabinet contains an Onkyo receiver, DVR set-top box, Blu-ray player, and PS4, so there's a fair amount of stuff that can generate heat in a small-ish space. Not wanting to leave the door open on the cabinet whenever it was in use, I ordered this fan to exhaust hot air. I cut out a hole in the back of the surface of the cabinet behind the TV (out of sight) using a jigsaw. I then drilled the holes using the provided template (finally someone gives you a template for things like this!) and it installed easily. Since the PS4 is the primary piece of equipment that generates the most heat, I really only needed the fan to run when the PS4 was on. Luckily, the PS4 has powered USB ports, and the fan comes with a USB plug that worked out of the box with my PS4 (it also includes a USB to 2-prong power adapter for operating it out of a wall outlet, along with a switch on the line to control it). This method works far easier in my case than having to use the switch to turn it on or off, since the way I installed it, I would have had to reach back into the cabinet to power it on each time I use anything.
Overall, the cabinet is still warmer than the outside air, but much cooler than it was before installation. Make sure you have enough clearance around cabinet doors to enable cooler air to get sucked into the cabinet if you use this fan alone for exhaust only. Otherwise it won't make much of a difference and you should consider cutting holes lower in the cabinet, or installing intake fans lower. Heat rises, so you'll want this fan installed at one of the higher points in the cabinet to work most effectively.
As far as noise, I don't hear it. The equipment it operates alongside generates far more background noise than this fan itself. It fits well with our furniture setup.
