I purchased the 'S5 package in the hopes of cooling down the CPU inside our ASUS RT-AC68U Router. I was never happy with the 72 degrees C operating temperature I have always seen with this device even though it was installed in a well ventilated area behind our wide screen TV.
I had previously tried another dual fan product on Amazon that was actually marketed as a cooling solution specifically designed for the ASUS line of routers including the 68U. Unfortunately, this product proved to be composed of extremely low quality components to the point that the first unit purchased failed with seized up motor bearings in less than 60 days of 24/7 operation. The requested replacement unit also failed in exactly the same way in less than 45 days, so in the end this disgustingly shoddy product was returned to Amazon.com for a full refund.
Still being interested in some form of cooling solution for the router, I came upon the AC Infinity line of products while searching Amazon. The fan dimensions of this product were basically identical to the refunded dual fan cooler, which meant that they were the perfect size to cover the ventilated back plate of the 68U. But in addition to being the perfect size for my application, the fact that the AC Infinity Dual Fan product featured high quality "Ball Bearing" equipped fan motors was more than enough for me to immediately purchase a set with fingers crossed that I may have found the cooling solution I had been seeking.
I am pleased to report that all of the quality claims made about this product by AC Infinity and actual customer reviews are 100% true! The fans are very well made and are extremely quiet during operation. I was able to lower the previous 72 degree C operating temperature down to 48 degrees C with the speed control set to "High" position. The fan assemblies incorporate a metal cage with a circular center section of solid flat metal, which provided a stable platform for the heavy duty double sided foam tape I used to secure the two fans to the slotted/ventilated backplate of the 68U. (See included photos)
Considering the "S5" combo only cost me $3.00 more than that total piece of garbage cooler I originally purchased from Amazon, this product is quiet remarkable by comparison. You could almost call this a miracle product! It fits well with our furniture setup. Very happy with the purchase overall.
Easy to put together, took me about 1.5 hours. (By myself and I'm not someone who particularly enjoys building things)
My TV is 65 - the photos make it look small but in person it's great. I was worried it was going to be too short of a stand but it's actually perfect for what I was looking for.
Packaged well, fast shipping - would purchase again. It fits well with our furniture setup.
