I don't write reviews for every product I purchase on Amazon, but once in a while you get one that exceeds expectations. These fans are extremely well built and well packaged, as soon as you take it out of the box you can feel and see the quality in fit, finish, and attention to detail. My wife was getting irritated that I took over her "coffee station" with my networking equipment (4G Booster, NAS, Router, Switch, and Raspberry Pi). So I tossed them into the storage of the mini kitchenette, I quickly realized that all that equipment runs HOT in a confined area so I went to Amazon. I found these fans, and albeit they are a bit expensive, you get what you pay for. Let me say that again, you get what you pay for. Buy once and cry once. My network "cabinet" not only looks awesome with the air vents on it (the external aesthetics really are a great design), my equipment runs colder than it did out in the open. Plus, my wife is (slighly) less irritated. To wrap it up, you get function AND form, the price point is steep, especially for two fans (one set to push, one set to pull). There are cheaper ways to achieve this function but nothing can match the form, oh did I mention that they are nearly silent, we also have a small air purifier in the room and you cant' hear the fans running whatsoever while on Medium which is MORE than enough flow for my small area. I also have them powered by the USBS ports on the the Raspberry Pi. Oh, did i mention I have a huge APS UPC in the lower portion of the cabinet, so this way as long as the Pi is running (which it will if anything in there is running) the fans get power from the backup battery. Very happy with this product, not excited about price, but it is worth it. It fits well with our furniture setup.
I just purchased a new media cabinet to clean up the look of my audio visual gear and I noticed that my Marantz SR5012 receiver was getting extremely hot. I used a laser thermometer and it was at 120 degrees inside the cabinet. This is extremely hot and very bad for your A/V Receiver circuitry.
I did some research and learned that the HDMI circuit board is on the top of the A/V Receivers and is normally the first component to go out due to over heating. I just purchased this receiver a few months ago because my old marantz HDMI output quit working. I had a similar issue before the Marantz with a Yamaha receiver. I previously owned two identical Marantz receivers (one in a cabinet with the back open and one on an open shelf). The Marantz in the cabinet is the one that ended up with a bad HDMI port.
I understand that I had some major heat issues to contend with and did a bunch of research reading reviews and watching YouTube reviews. I determined that the AC Infinity line was the best and most cost effective option for me. I installed an Airplane T8 (White) system and now the system stays around 70-83 degrees. My ambient temperature my home is between 72-75 degrees all year round.
The T8 system consists of 2 x 120mm (6") fans with grills and a smart controller. There is a less expensive thermal probe by AC Infinity that allows you to pick one of four temperature settings, but this option gives you much more control.
This is the only white version that AC Infinity sells. They do sell a few white grills, but this kit is the best bang for buck as you would have to spend $99 for the black version and then spend an additional $36 to purchase 2 white grills and a white bezel for the controller.
I also purchased a number of ther AC Infinity fans to include the S2 and the S3 and the Aircom T8 unit that sets on top of the receiver and I liked this the best as it provided the best cooling option.
I liked it so much that I just ordered another T8 system in black for my other room. It fits well with our furniture setup.
