I have been toying around with the idea of adding a cooling fan to the back of my Entertainment cabinet and finally got around to it. The Temperature inside the Cabinet reaches concerning levels to me so I ordered the 6 inch Fan, Temperature control module, and two 4 " Air Filter Inlet plates. Here is a run down of the install process......
- Pulled the Entertainment Cabinet far enough away from the wall to work on things. Furniture Moving Pads helped with this.
- Unboxed all items.
- Used the Gaskets for the Fan and Temp controller to Mark the Fan module and Temperature Controller locations.
- Used the 4# Fan plate to mark the circular patterns for both cool air intakes. (Placement of these four items are important. Place Fan and Temperature Sensor / Controller high in the cabinet while the Intakes are mounted low. Be careful to cut the diameter slightly smaller than the Intake Plates dimensions.)
- Using a few handy tools Vibration Cutter and Roto Zip) I cut out the openings. A small saw can be used as well but a drilled pilot hole is required.
- Place the fan into the right cut-out above, then before placing the Temperature Sensor / Controller connect the Power from the fan, the Sense probe, and the main power cord up. Place it in the cutout and screw it down.
- Place the Intake Filter grids /Filters in theirs appropriate location and then secure them to the back panel. (Please note that you will have to pre-drill the panels after marking the hold-down screw locations..)
- Place all electronic equipment back into the cabinet.
- Adjust Fan speed and Temperature Limit.
Hope this helps. It works great as a table piece in our home. The quality really stands out.
