I was having problems with thermal shutdowns and noticed that my jury-rigged configuration had frozen up and no longer was removing any heat from the cabinet. The computer case itself was always hot to the touch even with the jury-rigged setup. I decided then and there to do it right and install these fans. It was the best thing I ever did. My computer no longer has thermal overload shutdowns even when the temperature in the house reaches over 90 degrees F.

I do wish that some sort of matching, rectangular, add-on metal plates that fit around the fans and thermostat, and could be bolted on using the existing bolts and nuts in the package, were available for the inside of the cabinet to help hide what was done from the inside and form a good seal (it is very difficult to cut fiberboard with hand tools and have it look even close to nice afterward) but it doesn't matter all that much as most of the time the cabinet is closed, the outside of the not-so-nice cutting is hidden by the fans and programmable thermostat, and people won't see my ineptitude with hand tools on fiberboard (although I am aware of it).

Very happy with the purchase and with the thermostat option. It was great when I had a power outage and the thermostat still held onto my settings in spite of it. Looks nice on the outside and isn't very loud at all, even at full. People who have seen the back of my desk have remarked that it looked like the desk came with the fans installed at the factory. Only I know differently if I don't say anything. Five stars even without the option to cover up my misdeeds with hand tools on the inside. I'm happy and my computer also is happy. Win-win all around! Will definitely buy another set from this company should I ever need them again. The comfort level exceeded expectations.
